Me & Mine

tremendously interested in it.”

To my loving husband...
you encourage me everyday to do something I love. You love that I cook for you, because you don't! I think (I know) you would rather go hungry than actually get in the pantry and prepare something. I have evidence to back this up! I know you worry sometimes that I feel stuck at home and I am not busy enough with things that challenge me. This blog is a surprise for you and it should be a pretty big surprise for you since I have a rather encompassing lack of technological sense and ability. These pages are for both of us. I can keep my recipes in one place and share them with those I love. Then you can tell me that you were correct….I could do this technological things (uploading, editing, linking and all this fun stuff) all by myself.
I enjoy being in the kitchen with you, well anywhere with you really, but a few weeks ago we spent Friday night in the kitchen together while the kids watched a movie. It was a great night. I cooked and you found the best cocktails for me to try! I can't wait to do it again. So besides being the man who makes me a better, who makes me smile everyday, who on any given day believes in me more than I believe in myself, and the one who encourages me to seek out what I feel passionate about and actually do it…you makes me some pretty AMAZING cocktails too!
Greg's favorite food…Salted Brown Butter Rice Krispy Treats

I am mom to three wonderful, amazing, and beautiful children.
Nickolas who is my tech support and funny man. His smile is contagious. He loves computers, reading, music, Legos and he is a Minecraft expert!
Nickolas' favorite food…My Gram's Lasagna
Our daughter Ella, who is creative and artistic. She loves American Girl, Legos and all things that have to do with mythology…and oh, she kicks it on the soccer field too!
Ella's favorite food…Yogurt Pound Cake
And my sweet Sam. He loves to play soccer and basketball. He plays four musical instruments. He loves to cook with me and he spends time in the kitchen as my official taste tester!
Sam's favorite food…Chocolate Chip Cookies and Yogurt Pound Cake
(My taste tester has 2 favorites!)
I have a love of beautiful cook books and magazines and over the past few years I have actually been cooking from them. I haven't found a good system for keeping track of good or bad recipes/techniques, so here it is. This is a bit scary for me as I would not consider myself knowledgeable at all with anything computers, but that is the challenge. Julia Child said, "anyone who can read can cook". So I am going use that advise and adapt it to what challenges me and I am going to learn how to photograph, edit, write and post all the while doing something I love…cook.
So here goes. To making my husband and children proud, feeding them all good food, becoming a bit more techno savvy and maybe…
Mastering the Art of Something.
